Preventive Care

Patients are typically seen 2 times per year to perform routine maintenance recall. This usually involves examination by the doctor to evaluate oral health (includes oral cancer screening, evaluation of the tongue, palate, gum tissue as well as teeth). X-rays may be taken during the visit. Finally, removal of plaque and tartar build up (above gum level) as well as thorough polishing and flossing of teeth is completed. Fluoride treatment may be indicated for some patients (children between the age of 5-16, and patients with severe dry mouth).
